BIRDING EDUCATION CENTER

The Birding Education Center at Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas was designed to be fully open air and to operate as a large scale bird blind, in addition to the other programmatic requirements. On site there is an auditorium, several offices, a lobby, and an exhibition space. Each piece of the program has been separated and turned into its own building, and all 3 structures are then connected by one roof, overhanging just enough to allow for ample daylight, while blocking rain from entering the building.
